September 24th

Bishop Helen, shared her story. How God had opened her eyes and her heart.

From a housing estate in Nuneaton, to her roles in Youth for Christ, helping and assisting, people in need. Palliative care work, before embarking on becoming a priest and then in December 2021 her new role as Bishop of Qu'Appelle.

Saturday Day 4.

But first a quick recap on last night Friday, 23rd September.

Bishop Helen's inaugrual Fundraising event, dinner with a guest speaker. (aka Bishop Helen!)

The Bishop's Discretionary Fund is used by the Bishop to respond to situations where she feels the spirit leading her to provide help.

The fund may be used to help a clergy family in time of need or to help fund a project of a social justice organisation close to her heart.

Bishop Helen is passionate about Christ's call to fight against social injustice, she wants to support organisations who work to better the lives of people in our indigenous community, at-risk youth, women in need and the homeless.

The goal last night was to raise $5000, (which they did!!)

Your financial support would mean that you are working alongside the Bishop, here in Qu'Appelle, 'walking the walk', of Christ's call to address social injustice and help those most in need.

Rev Sara and I met some very friendly and welcoming members of the church communities, rekindling the relationship, built over many years. Qu'Appelle Diocese covers approx. 1000km square, the diocese now consists of 64 congregations worshipping in 33 parishes.

Their mission, as a diocese, is the same as for any Christian community: To proclaim the faith of Christ incarnate, Christ crucified, Christ risen and Christ among us.
